This biennial show is much anticipated after a cold dreary winter. Spring is just about to pop in the Central Valley of California by end of January as almond trees begin flowering by the 4th week! Whether it rains, is foggy or it's sunny, this show is a must attend event for anyone within a couple hundred miles.
The show has many exhibits with a strong fiber arts and wearables focus. Talent abounds from their guild with award winning quilters and mega gifted sewers who choose to remain anonymous and not compete.
There are a wide variety of vendors. The show is held at a beautiful convention center downtown Modesto with all the extras a big venue offers, including being in the downtown area with many types of restaurants.
They will have a free demonstration and lecture stage that is always great to learn some new things but to also take a break. The Guild will have special exhibits and challenges on display.
Being from Modesto, and a member of the Country Crossroads Quilters Guild, this show is dear to my heart. I have been on the quilt show committee for many years, this being my first year I am unable to help. At this very show in 2011 was where we first tested out selling the Easy Folded Star Hot Pad pattern. We will be there in January, and be part of the love fest called a quilt show. It's truly a love fest: love of fellow quilters, of the art of quilting, and of sharing that love with the community.
